Group Therapy
Therapy groups offer structured support, shared experience, and skills you can practice in real time — often at a lower cost than individual sessions.
Group therapy brings people together around a shared focus — anxiety, overthinking, grief, relational patterns, or life transitions — with a trained clinician facilitating the room. It is not a lecture or a support group without structure. Sessions combine psychoeducation, experiential exercises, and facilitated discussion so you can learn skills, try them out, and hear how others navigate similar struggles.
Why choose a therapy group?
- You're not alone. Hearing others name what you feel can reduce shame and isolation faster than insight alone.
- Skills in context. Groups let you practice communication, boundary-setting, and regulation with real feedback — not just in theory.
- Cost-effective care. Series-based groups are often priced per session at a lower rate than individual therapy.
- Complement to individual work. Many people do both: individual therapy for depth and a group for connection and skill-building.
How NEST groups work
Our therapy groups are clinician-led, time-limited series — not open-ended drop-in circles. Enrollment usually starts with an interest list, followed by a brief fit conversation and clinical screening before anyone joins. That screening protects the group and ensures the format is appropriate for your needs.
Groups may run virtually (Zoom) or in person depending on the offering. Size is intentionally small — often 6–10 participants — so everyone can participate meaningfully.

Is group therapy right for you?
Group therapy works well when you want connection, accountability, and structured skill-building. It is generally not appropriate for active psychosis, acute suicidality, severe substance use disorder, or anyone who needs a higher level of care than weekly outpatient treatment can provide. If you are in immediate danger, call or text 988.
